Swine Flu Spreading Fast!

As we turn on our TV’s or go to an internet news site, you cannot escape the topic of the Swine Flu. This flu seems to be spreading fast based upon the numerous news stories popping up all over the globe.
Should we be concerned? As a manager, mother and wife, I would have to say, “yes”. Why shouldn’t we be concerned? It is better to be safe than sorry!

As a manager, I am obligated to ensure the safety and welfare of the employees in my office. A representative at your job should do the same. If your company carries little concern for your health, you should be asking yourself, do I really want to work in a place like this? Your place of employment is not only endangering your life, but also the life of your friends and family members.

If someone at your job is carrying symptoms of the swine flu, tell someone and if you are questioning your symptoms, take the necessary precautions and stay home from work and see a doctor.

Nick Adenhart is another Type of Angel Now

The news recently reported the loss of Los Angeles Angels pitcher, Nick Adenhart, who was only 22 years of age. He was in a vehicle accident which unfortunately left him and 2 others dead.

I do not follow baseball so I will be the last one to quote you stats of players and who is being traded where, but I did want to write about Nick because we should all look to him as someone who was pursuing his dream of making something of himself as a pitcher in the MBL.

The point of this story is to convey the importance of putting all your effort into being the best that you can be by pursuing your dreams and goals in order to obtain what you want and desire out of life.

Many of you are faced with seeking employment due to either a layoff or cutback. Well, NOW is the time to pursue your dream like Nick. You will be up against many job seekers. The job market is more competitive than ever, so in order for you to get the job offer, YOU will need to make a strong commitment like Nick did by working hard to stand out amongst the crowd. By staying persistent in your efforts and showing your commitment to never give up, YOU will stand out among the crowd.

I wish you luck in searching for your dream and reaching your career goals, and remember; you will reach that platform you desire by staying persistent in your actions in fighting for the job you desire!
